How to Choose the Right Aluminium Sheet for Sublimation

Choosing the right aluminium sublimation sheet comes down to four decisions: finish, thickness, size and a quick test press. Get those right and your colour, durability and cost all fall into place. Here's how to work through them.

Step 1: Match the finish to the product

The finish changes how light and colour read on the final piece:

• Gloss white — truest colour reproduction; best for photographs and full-colour art.
• Matt white — glare-free; ideal for galleries and indoor displays.
• Gold, silver, pearl, brushed — the metal shows through the design for premium awards and gifting.

Step 2: Choose the thickness

Thickness controls weight, rigidity and cost. Use 0.45 mm for fridge magnets, photo frames and small panels, and 0.55 mm for larger awards, signage and wall panels that need to stay flat.

Step 3: Decide the size

Our standard sheet is 1200 × 600 mm, but every finish can be cut to custom sizes — useful for magnets, name plates and A4/A5 panels. Order the standard sheet if you'll cut in-house, or send your dimensions for ready-to-press blanks.

Step 4: Test before you commit
